Kitchen Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of the kitchen, maintaining high food quality standards, managing staff, and ensuring health and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Kitchen Operations: Oversee and manage all kitchen operations, ensuring timely and efficient food preparation and delivery.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Menu Planning: Collaborate with chefs to develop, update, and modify the menu, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Inventory Control: Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain stock levels to ensure that the kitchen is well-equipped without overspending.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and health and safety protocols in the kitchen.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency in line with restaurant expectations.
  • Cost Management: Monitor kitchen expenses, labor costs, and food waste to optimize profitability without compromising quality.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all kitchen equipment is in good working order and schedule repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and address any issues promptly.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, and health & safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience with budget management and cost control.
  • Food safety and hygiene certification is preferred.
