Job Summary:
As a Sous Chef you will work closely with the Head Chef to manage kitchen operations and ensure the highest culinary standards are maintained. You’ll lead a team of kitchen staff, oversee food preparation, and help develop new menu items. This role requires a culinary professional with a passion for excellence, leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring they follow proper cooking techniques and food safety standards.
- Contribute to menu development, suggesting and testing new recipes that align with our culinary vision.
- Manage inventory and assist with ordering ingredients to ensure consistent stock levels.
- Monitor food costs and waste to optimize kitchen efficiency.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen, equipment, and storage areas.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and resolve any issues that arise during service.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a reputable restaurant or food establishment.
- Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred.
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health standards.
- Ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a high-volume kitchen.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- A passion for creativity in the kitchen and commitment to delivering quality.
