Sous Chef

Job Summary:

As a Sous Chef you will work closely with the Head Chef to manage kitchen operations and ensure the highest culinary standards are maintained. You’ll lead a team of kitchen staff, oversee food preparation, and help develop new menu items. This role requires a culinary professional with a passion for excellence, leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring they follow proper cooking techniques and food safety standards.
  • Contribute to menu development, suggesting and testing new recipes that align with our culinary vision.
  • Manage inventory and assist with ordering ingredients to ensure consistent stock levels.
  • Monitor food costs and waste to optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and resolve any issues that arise during service.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a reputable restaurant or food establishment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health standards.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A passion for creativity in the kitchen and commitment to delivering quality.
